Atwood Host Atlantic Workshop On Semantics And Services

Atlantic Workshop On Semantics And Services

The third annual Atlantic Workshop on Semantics and Services (AWoSS) will be held in Miramichi, New Brunswick on May 18, 2011.  The workshop will be hosted by Atwood Technology Inc., a leader in the field of ontology-based human semantics (a catch-all term referring to the computer-based understanding of emotion or slang in text).

Many believe that while web 1.0 was static and unidirectional, and web 2.0 depends on two-way interaction and user-created content, web 3.0 will be a sort of artificial intelligence with predictive capabilities with an emphasis on efficiency.

AWoSS, originally a collaboration between the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and the University of New Brunswick, is designed to lay out best practices and strategies in web semantics and services, as well as showcasing advances in the field.

Atwood Technology Inc. will be showcasing some of their semantics technology by, strangely enough, presenting their online dating site,

The Workshop is free, and more information can be found at e AWoSS site, as well as the press release.
